Very successful 1st training day for child workers

On Saturday, November 6, 16 people from the Royal Mission Team were in Veenendaal for the 1st training day on children’s work. Nearly 150 children’s workers from far and wide Erwinarea had registered and came trickling in one by one. It was immediately a nice group of people. The starting signal was given by Erwin Beers and the tone was immediately set. Pleasant, substantive, encouraging and interactive. Everyone was allowed to get started right away with a game under supervision Wiebrand and Leonie and then on to the first block of education about ‘passion for children’. Almost everyone got personal Lettersconfronted with the core of children’s work. How wonderful to clearly state that it is all about children. ‘As soon as children are involved, it’s all about the children!’. JobJust recovered from this intense challenge, the next action came: the story through Job. Everyone participated with enthusiasm. To then continue with ‘vision for children’s work’, with a concrete processing assignment at the end. Many workers were affected by this block and publicly decided to work on it. Vision is making your dream concrete and it helps you determine your course, persevere and take others along in the adventure. After a short break it was time for a song, with gestures of course. Children’s workers are great and (almost) always participate with dedication. Wonderful to see everyone singing and swinging like that. At that moment Athalia took over and delivered a strong piece about ‘children’s work IN the church’. The stories are so recognizable, the challenges are often the same. Time to really get to work and involve the entire church in the vision for children!Athalia 2 Lunch came at the right time and was well prepared. Relax and have a wonderful time of consultation, talking at the stand and encouraging each other. The atmosphere was optimal and there was a lot of networking. The stand was also busier than ever. It went so fast that a number of materials were sold out. Balloons3The afternoon started with action again: praying, but differently. It was a colorful celebration with passionate prayer. Everyone moving and praying together, asking, whispering and being silent. Very special. After this great start, education about leadership and building teams followed. Very good to train and challenge children’s workers in this. We had saved the best for last. Bless everyone. With 12 prayers we stood at the front of a blessing arch, through which everyone could walk. Many were touched and tears ran down their faces. How good God is and He can encourage so well! SummaryAt the end the conclusion was that we had a wonderful day. Our RM team even said ‘this was better than the youth workers day’ and I agree! On Saturday, January 8, the same day will be in Leeuwarden and on Saturday, February 5, in Haarlem. Make sure you are there and bring others with you! Go for the children, because they have their whole life ahead of them! Martin Koornstra
