Last Saturday we had our first training day of 2011. We were guests at the Opstandingskerk in Leeuwarden for a day about children’s work with almost 170 participants. It was another big party! Practical assignments and rigorous education alternated at a brisk pace in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. Karin Koornstra took care of the topics ‘Passion for children’ and Vision for children’s work’ and that made an impression. The clear principles came to life through the beautiful stories from her life as a children’s worker. Athalia Ploegh, our psychologist in the team, introduced the people to the theme ‘children’s work IN the church’. Clear and stimulating! Martin Koornstra taught a number of principles about leadership and building teams. And a highlight of the day was the blessing of all participants, while they themselves prayed in groups. Impressive! A response via email ‘First of all, thank you very much for the wonderful children’s work day last Saturday in Leeuwarden. We enjoyed it very much. A wonderful encouragement and blessing. Also a compliment for the way in which you and the team organized this day so professionally. Thank you very much!’ We’ll be in next monthHaarlem a guest with the sametraining day about children and children’s work . Make sure you are there and pass it on to parents and children’s workers in that region.Information and registration via the ‘Free Training Days’ button . An internet course about Martin’s book ‘Live royally’ will start next week. The course was set up by Rolof Mulder ( www.bijbelstudie.net ) and 2 CHE students. We are overwhelmed by the number of registrations and will start with almost 950 participants. There are even registrations from Romania, Suriname, Spain, Uganda, France and South Africa. What a great start to this new project! We are only at the beginning of 2011 and expect a lot from God. You can never overestimate God, for He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine!
