We have been incredibly blessed these last few weeks! Last week, 4 concrete commitments from investors were added. This means we now have 83% of the share capital together! Yes! We are currently in contact with a few potential investors. If all goes well, this will result in the last 2 investors we still need! In the meantime, we are already working with the accountant and the notary to prepare documents for establishing the BV.
We also reached a milestone yesterday: we made the first investment! It wasn’t a very big one yet, but it was an opportunity we had to seize. For our small factory we need a distribution box that contains fuses that protect the electricity of the machines. It is somewhat the same idea as the meter cupboard in every home, but slightly larger. And also a bit more expensive…
Jent Bijlstra is the owner of Bijlstra installations . He had already indicated that he would like to give us selfless advice and help with everything regarding electricity. They had already requested a price for us for a new distribution box with exactly the parts we need. This already cost around €7,500 to purchase. Jent also indicated that these types of installations sometimes become available when factories are demolished.
After Baukje spent an afternoon calling around to demolition companies, I bought 2 distribution boxes together with my younger brother Mindert. Together, these 2 cabinets not only provide enough capacity for our start, but they can also make the factory 4 times as large.
The costs for these 2 cabinets were ‘only’ €750. However, the main switch was broken and they cost a few hundred euros new. I had already called the importer and he indicated that unfortunately this type could no longer be supplied. Fortunately, there happened to be exactly such a switch on Marktplaats for €50, new and unused! Someone had cleaned out a warehouse at the company and this was left over!
The first start of our factory is ready in Dokkum 🙂
